Youth Ministry MADE THE PAPER!! Click HERE to check it out!

Discipleship can be difficult. Journeying with Christ can be difficult. It may seem scary and overwhelming when you look at it as a whole.

But if we take it step by step, one day at a time, and we really break down WHY Jesus calls us to do the things that we need to do, it feels less overwhelming.

To help you do that, we are inviting you to take part in a new journey called YDisciple. It is not just a program but a way of life.

YDisciple sets up a curriculum for teens to be able to learn about Jesus and how to be a disciples. Jesus says "Come follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."

We will be forming small groups of 4-5 teens, and we will be meeting twice a month, starting in September. Each group will pick the best day and time for them.

We want you to join!! This is only a 90 minute commitment every other week. This is open to ANY high schooler, regardless of religion.

Please email us at if you would like to learn more. We will be beginning the last week of September.

Thank you! And God Bless!

Meet Your Youth Minister - Aubri Bourge

Aubri has been a member of St Mary’s Sycamore since 2016. She lives in Cortland with her husband, Alex, and baby, Oliver. Aubri was hired as the Youth Minister in the summer of 2019 after leaving her previous job as Branch Manager at Fifth Third Bank. She wanted to be able to stay home with her new baby but also have a job that was fulfilling to her. She was previously a volunteer in Youth Ministry the year before, so when the position became available, she felt called to apply. Aubri has a degree in Business Management and Communication from Millikin University; however, her real passion and why she attended Millikin was for singing (she often jokes that while she thought she may have been good enough, she discovered there that it was truly just a hobby…;)). Aubri met Alex when she moved to the Dekalb area in 2013 - they spent 3 years as friends, and then the rest is history! Alex, however, grew up in Sycamore his whole life and was a strong member of the Youth Ministry and the Peer Ministry Team at St. Mary’s. He also spent many summers working for Dickson Valley at Camp WOW. With the help of her husband, Aubri prays she will be able to continue the strong Youth Ministry that St. Mary’s Sycamore is known for and continue to grow it each year.
